Elements is a one-of-a-kind store created, owned and run by us - Bonnie Blais and Shelley Peek. It is not a franchise, but a unique store located in Downtown Lake Orion. It is filled with unique products ranging from furniture to garden to bath, body and Candles. We also carry jewelry, handbags, stationary and books. Our kid's section is filled with great educational games and books and one-of-a-kind clothing. The ambience of the store is that of a European Flea Market. Beautiful and unique sites, smells and music. We carry unique items that are not the dime a dozens you would find at local chain stores, but our prices are comparable. Elements is the perfect place to grab a special gift or to decorate your home/garden. If we do not have something specific you are looking for - we will do our best to help you find it. Elements was opened in May 19, 2006 after extensive renovations to the 3,000 square foot, 100 year old building. Click here to see the transformation in before and after photos. We knew the minute we walked into the space that it was the perfect fit for our vision. We also knew we had a lot of work ahead of us. Three months and many, many long hours later that vision became a reality. The original tin ceiling was brought back to life with the removal of a drop ceiling and a fresh coat of ivory paint. The orange walls were painted a soothing sage green laying the base for the relaxing shopping experience we had in mind. The cement slab that was the floor was covered by a beautiful red oak plank floor that was hammered and chained until it looked like it had been there for many years. Large Picture windows and a double entry door replaced two small windows and single door. New paint on the façade and a simple rustic sign completed the project. We were fortunate enough to receive assistance from Main Street Oakland County on the designs for the renovations of the façade. The Village of Lake Orion and the DDA were also a huge help with a façade and sign grant. We could not have done it without them. The concept of Elements was born of a creative spark (a major creative spark) and a strong desire to be our own bosses. We both had very small children and were working full time jobs. Owning our own business would allow the flexible schedule and creative freedom we were looking for. We envisioned our store in a downtown location. Both living within minutes of downtown Lake Orion made it the perfect spot for us (no more long commutes). Lake Orion is a great community and we are extremely happy to be a part of it. Community is key. We love participating in local events and hosting events of our own. Our goal was and is to create not only a great store with great product, but an enjoyable atmosphere for our customers. Their satisfaction and shopping experience most important.
